Jaguar's dealer-fitted iPod and USB input for the X-Type, S-Type and XJ — does your car have one, and is it worth buying today?
The Audio Connectivity Module, or ACM, was Jaguar's dealer-fitted answer to “how do I play my own music?”. If you've seen the term in a service book or on a forum and wonder whether your car has one — or whether it's worth buying today — here's what it is and what your options are now.
If there's a USB port and a pair of RCA sockets or an iPod lead in the armrest storage, your car most likely has the ACM. If the armrest is empty, it doesn't — the ACM was an accessory, not standard equipment.
For the X-Type, S-Type and XJ, the JAGAUX Bluetooth adapter streams any app from your phone through the factory radio, with track control from the steering wheel and hands-free calls. It also has an AUX input for a cable if you want one. It plugs in behind the radio — installation guide.
XK / XKR (X150): you don't need an ACM to play your own music — the AUX input can be activated: AUX activation in the XK.
