Which model years this covers
This pinout covers the XJ6 (XJ40) of 1991. One table serves every one of those years: within a head unit generation the connector and the wire colours do not change.
Other years of this model carry a different head unit — 1990 on LB33, LB32. See that pinout.
Other years of this model carry a different head unit — 1993–1994 on LB36. See that pinout.

Common questions
Which wire is the 12 V constant on the XJ6 (XJ40) radio connector?
LB33 pin 11, wire colour NW (Brown with White tracer). It stays live with the key out: this is the memory feed.
What are the speaker wire colours on the XJ6 (XJ40)?
LEFT FRONT SPEAKER — pin 1, RW; LEFT REAR SPEAKER — pin 2, RN; LEFT FRONT AND LEFT REAR SPEAKER: common return — pin 3, RG; LEFT BASS SPEAKER — pin 5, RLG; LEFT BASS SPEAKER — pin 6, RP; RIGHT FRONT SPEAKER — pin 7, KW; RIGHT REAR SPEAKER — pin 8, KY; RIGHT FRONT AND RIGHT REAR SPEAKER: common return — pin 9, KLG; RIGHT BASS SPEAKER — pin 13, KR; RIGHT BASS SPEAKER — pin 14, KO.
What connector does the XJ6 (XJ40) head unit use?
The head unit sits on LB33. Jaguar colour codes are not the aftermarket standard, so match an adapter by pin number, not by wire colour.
Notes and caveats
One book, one year. This is read from the 1991 MY guide alone. There is no 1992 book to compare it with, so the year above is the year of the document, not a checked range.
Later cars differ. From 1993 the radio moves to LB36 and shares not one wire colour with the table above. Use the 1993–1994 sheet.
Earlier cars differ. The 1990 guide draws the same LB33 but a 15-way in yellow, not a 14-way in white, numbered differently, and it puts battery, switched supply and ground on a second plug, LB32. There is a sheet for it. The quickest check is the locate-lighting wire: RG here, YU on a 1990 car.
No ground pin. LB33 carries no chassis ground. Pins 3 and 9 are speaker returns, not grounds.
Speaker polarity. Not marked on the drawing.
* Pins 3, 9. Shared returns, and this is why the colours look repeated. Pin 3 is spliced at LBS98 and serves the left front and the left rear speaker together; pin 9 is spliced at LBS97 and serves the right front and the right rear. Front and rear on one side cannot be separated at the head unit.
** Pins 5, 6, 13, 14. The two bass units are separate speakers in the rear footwells, on their own pairs — left on LS9, right on RS33. The other four speakers are in the doors.
*** Pin 10. Fed from the A/C and radio relay, through a choke at the radio end. The same wire feeds the climate control and the lights-on audible warning.
